About Me

I’m an interaction designer and content strategist specializing in science and exhibition. I have more than a decade’s experience in the informal science education field, where I design interactive galleries and hands-on science experiments for the public. My projects typically have both a physical location and an online presence; and I employ shared and social media for the planning, creation and dissemination of the work.

My exhibits are based in the fundamental reliance on scientific method as the base for interactions. Each project is designed to be an experiment where a user is provided with the tools and instructions for making the device perform. The interactions themselves are all developed as working prototypes. As devices are used and tested they are always subject to updates and iterations.

I’ve written several major grants proposals directed at government agencies such as the NSF. It is during this process I’m most often called to step outside myself and into the shoes of another: user, engineer, funder or audience.

I’m currently consulting with museums and design firms. I often find myself creating the soul of the exhibit using many platforms simultaneously from conception to delivery: text, photos, web, CAD drawing, gallery. In addition live performance has been influential in the work I’ve done for institutions. I have produced dozens of live events to critical acclaim.
